Jon Stewart To Pay His Writers Out of Own Pocket During WGA Strike

Celebrity: Jon Stewart - (Bio) - (Pics)

In a show of solidarity with his fellow scribes, the Daily Show host has told his writing staff that he will cover all their salaries for the next two weeks, according to a well-placed source. He has also vowed to do the same for writers on The Colbert Report. Now that is pretty remarkable if this turns out to be true.

Pretty cool if you ask me. Although at the same time he has no choice or his show would drag pretty bad considering it's daily. I hope that Jay Leno, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, and David Letterman do the same.

Jon Stewart is a writer on the Colbert Report I thought..he's gonna pay himself?!

Yea I watch them everyday just about. Usually always catch Colbert's show. I do miss the Daily Show from time to time. Both are set to record on the DVR though.

Not that I care, but that seems to be crossing the 'picket line'.... it sure seems different in this industry than it would in a manufacturing industry!

And that is pretty cool of Jon S. ... props
