LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Comedian George Carlin, a counter-culture hero famed for his routines about drugs and dirty words, died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital on Sunday, a spokesman said. He was 71. Carlin was one of my favorite comics. This truly is a sad day.

George Carlin was one of my favorite comics. He just recently had an HBO special about death and the things people say at wakes.

I saw him last year, at a club, as he was preparing his material for the HBO special. Loved him! He's going to be missed.
