Based on preliminary numbers from 56 markets, yesterday's Super Bowl is averaging a 44.7 rating. The highest-rated game according to Nielsen was Super Bowl XVI in 1982, at 49.1. When all of the numbers are in, its quite possible that Super Bowl XLII could surpass the 82 Super Bowl with Joe Montana. Stay Tuned[Source]
